I am currently a professor of religious studies by profession and an artist by passion. I bring to my work my interdisciplinary backgrounds in Islamic feminism, comparative ethics, and material culture. I also design Islamic fashion and batik. I am currently working on “ A Journey of Islamic Images in AI Art.” I come to this project after teaching “Islam and Material Culture.” I wanted to know what happens to “Islamic” pictorial images if they are processed by AI art platform and what kinds of ethical dilemmas emerge through such processes.
