All of us have dreams. While some are able to realize their dreams, others continue to dream and do nothing. I belong to the latter group of dreamers. I dreamt for a lifestyle website that shows how Muslim women can look and feel good about themselves. This idea comes from my experience as a Muslim women living in the West.I got questions like: “Professor, what is on your head?” This very question was asked in the first week of the classes early on in my career. As you can imagine, I have received such questions about what I wear in my “head” on many occasions. Even if I am not being asked directly, I can feel the intent and curious gaze directed to my“head.”
What motivates me to eventually finish this lifestyle website is my friend’s conversation of whether or not Muslim women can wear jeans. Ok, by this time, I got enough motivation to finish the look of this website. I vowed to finish what I have started. I want to be able to provide a space where Muslim women share what they consider feeling and looking good. I will be grateful if you complete my journey in finishing this website by sharing what you want to finish or simply asking questions for blog discussion. I am looking forward to your contributions.
